Here is my short story that has yet to take place.....

I have been in the shoe industry for 22 years. Both sides of the fence, retail first and then wholesale.

Kids always want to go to their Dad's (or Mom's) place of work to gain more insight into what exactly we do for a living. Since my kids never could connect with what I do with all the samples that are always lying all over the house, I decided add this to a list of right of passage moments in their lives.

When they turn 8, I take them to their first Steeler game. You have to keep your priorities in line.

The next one, when they turn 11, I take them on a business trip ( to a city/account of their choice). I thought they would pick the trip based on destination alone. There are a lot of cool places we get to go see in this industry. But I was shocked, when my oldest, soon to be 11, said he wanted to go to Zappos. I said why? He said, it's really simple, Dad. I want to go see how they get me those shoes I want the very next day.

That is my WOW through service moment. Everyone should experience it!
